Do you have a retail storefront?
At this time we do not have a storefront, all of our confections are made to order. We are a licensed Cottage Food Operation (CFO) in the State of California operating from our home. We are a two person (mother and daughter) couture, all custom made bakery. We feel that our clients are all special and we want to give each and every one of them the best tasting most beautifully designed product, and hence we use the finest highest quality ingredients that are available.
What is the lead time for placing my order?
The short answer; 2 weeks for party cakes, but even that’s pushing it.
For weddings, its never too soon! However, because we are only two, and strive to give our best to each and every one of you, we accept only a limited number of orders for any given date. We operate on a first come first served basis, or in other words, first paid, first booked! This is why it’s so important to contact us as soon as possible, generally for weddings we need a minimum of 2-3 months notice in order to allow for design consults, tastings and actual production time. Our suggestion is that, you contact us for a consult and price estimate as soon as you can. We will provide in written form, including a non refundable deposit amount which IS required to secure your date. Note: Your date is NOT secure on our calendar until this deposit is paid. The sooner your deposit is in the better.
What if my plans change after I have made my deposit?
We do understand that sometime circumstances beyond our control can change plans, with that in mind our deposits are non refundable. If you need to cancel your order for some reason we ask you contact us and we will can credit your deposit to another event/date to be used at a future time within one year of original event date. Vice versa, in the event that Lille, Little Bite Bake Shop must cancel your order, a full refund of all payments made will be issued. For this reason, rest assured, we take great care in making sure this NEVER happens!
What are the cost of your cakes?
Custom cake prices start at $150 + additional cost for sculpted artwork and delivery fees. Wedding cakes start at $500. These are bases prices that include all of our listed menu flavors, minimal “on cake” decorations and up to 2 Tiers. The final price of your cake is determined by design elements extra tiers, flowers, characters, and the delivery/set-up requirements. Our average is roughly $10 – $13 per serving. That is why we strongly recommend you call ahead and have us provide you a written estimate. We do strive to work within your budget so please let us know what that is.
Because our philosophy is that while our baked goods taste amazing, they are also a vehicle to display some of Jennee’s unique artistic abilities with “sugar paste” art. Jennee creates one of a kind creations that simply cannot be purchased in a bulk bakery. Since every cake is custom designed and created by hand, we are not able to offer a set price list. Factors that influence final cost include number of servings, premium flavor choices, complexity of design and rush order fees for cakes ordered within 1 week of event dates.
Custom cupcakes start at $48 a dozen. Some custom cupcake decorations are extra and have a minimum of 2 dozen qty per order.
May I supply design ideas?
Absolutely! We love collaborating with our clients, as the cake should absolutely reflect your taste and style. Our goal is to create a unique design that will reflect your individual style. Out of respect to our fellow cake designers we do not replicate cakes that have been made by other cake companies, however we will do our best to create something equally as visually stunning and incorporate design elements with slight variations that make it a wholly new and beautiful design we know you’ll be even happier with. We encourage you to bring in photos or any visual aids that you feel will assist us in understanding the style of cake you desire.
Can I make changes to my order?
Most changes can be made easily up to the point of the time your order is fully paid for. Once you are on the calendar finalization of design can be adjusted if needed and we will make any adjustments to your order balance if needed.
Can I make payments to my order in installments?
We understand finances can be all over the place during the wedding planning stage so we are willing to work with your financial situation and allow you to make payments over the course of your engagement. These arrangements will be established at the time of first deposit. Terms and payment breakups will be listed in writing in form of a signed contract. The 40% secure date rule still applies and your date will not be fully booked until the minimum 40% has been met. Likewise, all payments must be made by the 3 week cutoff prior to your date. MINIMUM $1,500 ORDERS FOR PAYMENT PLANS.
Do you supply flowers?
Do you do tastings and do you charge for them?
Do you supply cake/cupcake displays?
We do offer a limited supply of display items for cakes, cupcakes and dessert tables. There is a non-refundable rental fee for display items with a choice of client/vendor return or Lille breakdown. Please ask for details.
Do you deliver?
Yes, for all events we will deliver and setup everything so you don’t have to worry about it. The fees for delivery are determined by distance, method of transport, carrier, handling and set-up requirements.
We do offer pickups for small cakes and cupcakes at no charge.
